Living and working in Dunfermline, Scotland

Our Dunfermline Software Centre of Excellence is located on the Carnegie Campus in Dunfermline, Scotland, birthplace of Andrew Carnegie. For the outdoor enthusiast, Dunfermline is well placed to take advantage of the golf, hill walking and cycling challenges in beautiful surrounding countryside. If retail therapy is more to your liking, Edinburgh and Glasgow are within easy reach for world-class shopping, culture and city life.

Edinburgh is just a 20-minute train ride away, and Glasgow is less than 40 miles to the west with good rail and motorway connections.
Dunfermline is located in Fife, a tourist destination in itself, which can offer a high standard of living and low costs compared to many other
regions. There are plenty of high quality properties for sale or rent in vibrant urban or beautiful rural settings.

Living and working in Dundee

During this period of company growth we are extensively looking at suitable office premises in Dundee.

Dundee with a population of around 150,000 is Scotland’s fourth largest city; set by the River Tay with the majestic glens of Angus to the west, it boasts an impressive location which is scenic, modern and vibrant.

With a 300-year long tradition of invention and innovation, Dundee continues to be a city at the cutting-edge of technology, science and design in the 21st Century. One of the reasons Dundee has become known as the “City of Discovery”.

Dundee has been benefiting from a £1 billion investment rejuvenating the city centre, the waterfront, and continues to see growth in Life Science and Technology.

Dundee’s traditional landmarks are a testament to its history of exploration, education and technology. It is home to the RRS Discovery, the last traditional wooden three-masted ship to be built in Britain, designed for Antarctic research and the Mills Observatory, the first purpose-built public astronomical observatory in the UK. In recent years Dundee has welcomed the opening of the new V&A, Scotland’s first design museum, and in 2024 will open its doors to a new 4000 seater Esports arena.

There are lots of opportunities for sports; with 30 golf courses in and around the city, including major championship courses at both St Andrews and Carnoustie. Hill walking in the Glens can be enjoyed or walks along the beaches in Broughty Ferry or Carnoustie.

Dundee’s road and rail links mean that it is well situated for visits to Scotland’s other towns and cities.

Throw into the mix that Dundee has been voted the sunniest city in Scotland year after year, it’s no wonder that it has been voted the best city to live in Scotland by the Sunday Times 2019.

Living and working in Belfast, Northern Ireland

Our Belfast Software Centre of Excellence is located within the thriving Gasworks area in the heart of Belfast city centre, a 5 minute walk from Central Train Station and a short drive to George Best City Airport.

With the recent study by the industry body TechNation finding that Belfast is the best place to be a skilled tech worker outside of London and the best place to come to work as a software developer, there is a great opportunity to join our growing team, develop our Belfast Software Centre of Excellence and enjoy the buzz of the local software eco-system.

Northern Ireland offers a first class environment for living as well as working. There’s an excellent education system, a world-class
healthcare service and very affordable property to buy or rent. With little congestion, efficient public transport and an easy-going lifestyle,
quality of life is at the core of living in Northern Ireland. Away from the office you will find dramatic coastlines, castles, mountains, lakes and some of the best golf courses in the world. Northern Ireland also has many fine restaurants, cinemas. Leisure centres and renowned
theatres, galleries, arts centres, pubs and clubs.

Living and working in Eindhoven, The Netherlands

Our Eindhoven office is right in the middle of the Brainport region. Eindhoven has an important collection of high-tech innovative industries, and thus attracts many talented professionals with an eye for the future, and looking for new opportunities. Bitwise mission is to provide excellent engineering services to these clients to further enable them to innovate!

Eindhoven is also known as the capital of Dutch design, it is a lively, modern city situated in the North Brabant province in the south of the Netherlands. Living in Eindhoven can be both surprising and rewarding, with many leisure options and a generally young population.

Eindhoven operates a comprehensive and efficient bus network that covers the entire city and makes getting around very easy. But perhaps the best way to get around in Eindhoven is the Dutch way: by bike. The city’s excellent network of bike lanes to cycle to and from work accommodates that perfectly.

As a relatively young city with a strong focus on innovation, high-tech, design and creativity, Eindhoven provides a nice mix in art and culture, through the city’s theatres, galleries and museums. Elsewhere, recreation and leisure activities are widely available, with skate parks, bicycle trails, climbing walls and swimming pools. In addition, football fans come from all over the region to watch PSV Eindhoven compete.
