I joined Bitwise at a point in my career where I had already had roles in both academia and industry, and I was keen to find an opportunity to apply my skills from both areas.
I started my university studies in physics and ended up completing a PhD in applied and computational mathematics. After that I had a variety of roles, from working on the technical side of a research project in computational biology, to developing enterprise desktop engineering software.
Before I joined Bitwise, I’d been a bit unsure about what I thought of as my non-traditional developer background – I didn’t have a degree in computer science and had little experience of embedded development – but I was really pleased to find that this wasn’t a barrier to me.
So far at Bitwise I’ve been able to contribute to two long-running medical projects, both of which have
given me great opportunities to build my development skills and technical knowledge.
