    Our offices are located on the Carnegie Campus in Dunfermline, Scotland, birthplace of Andrew Carnegie.     Software Engineers

    To meet current business demands we’re looking to recruit new software engineering talent at all levels. From enthusiastic, motivated engineers looking to learn new skills to experienced system architects and consultants that can scope projects, manage teams and have the communication skills needed to present and impress.

    You’ll be helping shape future innovations in areas ranging from medical instruments to safety critical software in automotive and industrial control. Or developing new mobile apps, radar guidance, network QOS applications and payment management systems – all challenging projects with opportunities to engage in every aspect of product development.

    Qualifications
    We’re looking for people with strong design skills who are passionate about software development and are comfortable working on customer-focused projects. To be successful you need to have:

    • A background in software engineering
    • Working knowledge of at least two modern programming languages e.g. C++, C, C#, Java
    • A degree in a relevant technical discipline or equivalent experience
    • Knowledge of OO design and development is desirable
    • Experience in embedded or real time development is also an advantage.

    Senior Software Engineers (UK & NL)

    We are looking for talented software engineers to be based at our headquarters in Dunfermline, Scotland and our European operations in Eindhoven, Netherlands. We work with a diverse range of technologies in the medical, payments systems, telecoms, automotive and other sectors, and develop software to the highest quality industry standards. We require highly capable software engineers with a good breadth and depth of experience in software engineering and with a solid understanding of software development best practices. Interest and enthusiasm for learning new skills within a fast moving commercial environment are essential.

    Responsibilities

    • Analyse high level requirements and translate them into detailed specifications and designs;
    • Propose solutions to technical issues, obtain approvals and work with the team to deliver software that complies with the relevant standards;
    • Plan your work schedule and co-ordinate planning with your team;
    • Produce high quality, efficient, maintainable code, on time and in accordance with the business requirements;
    • Ensure software development practices, processes and standards are maintained, including performing design reviews, code reviews, testing, mentoring, providing technical presentations and producing documentation;
    • Identify, investigate, and resolve issues and undertake improvements as necessary;
    • Be influential with regard to architecture, design, and implementation of BitWise software with our clients.

    Requirements

    • Thorough understanding of at least one of C, C++, C#.
    • Adaptable – able to quickly pick up new technologies and tools.
    • Good understanding of and experience in implementing software to meet current industry standards; knowledge of particular safety/quality standards would be desirable.
    • Previous technical leadership experience would be advantageous but is not essential.
    • Degree educated in an appropriate technical discipline, ideally Computer Science.

    Technical Lead

    Salary – up to £55K DOE plus benefits

    Who We Are

    This is a key role that provides technical leadership to projects from concept to implementation. As the Technical Lead you will contribute to analysing product requirements, define the end-to-end architecture and ensure the detailed design and development remains consistent with the overall architectural principles and objectives.

    To be successful you will have:-

    • A breadth of business domain knowledge in two or more industry sectors ideally in Medical, Automotive, Payments, Defence, Consumer or Safety
    • Depth of expertise in Object Oriented software development.
    • Ability to analyse a set of requirements or existing architecture and define an architecture that complements the customers’ business goals and objectives.
    • Previous hands-on experience as a senior software engineer using a range of languages including C++ and familiarity with the Microsoft ecosystem.
    • Experience in managing and leading cross-functional teams.
    • Excellent customer engagement skills and ability to manage customer expectations at a technical level.
    • Experience in embedded software development.
    • Keen eye on emerging Technology and Architecture trends and their potential impact on industry sectors.
    • Experience providing specific technical expertise to clients and provide support to project teams through the software lifecycle.
    • Experience of mentoring and coaching software engineers.
    • Provided project reporting to key stakeholders.
    • An understanding of working in a service organisation.
